Great info! I actually just had my photos digitized, however, I was really nervous about sending all these precious photos away through the mail, as I have lost an item in the past... If you are like me and nervous about shipping them off, try to find a local company who will do the same job. It was a little more costly, but worth it to protect these things!
If in the San Diego or Southern California area, I recommend DVD Your Memories.
