Do You Get Out to Dinner as Often as You Want?!

The JuiceBox widget
on my sidebar is begging me to go out to dinner (and the deals from
sponsoring this post, are tempting as well). During the holidays, we
don't get out anywhere
near enough, school programs, family get-togethers, visitors from out of town, etc. Also, money is tight after you've bought Christmas presents for everyone on your list!

Getting out and about with the kids is one thing...you end up paying for meals at restaurants that they end up not finishing, or cost more than they're worth, so we see the end of the drive-thru lane frequently during the holidays. Most often, the hubby and I do get out alone, thanks to my supportive mom and dad, we can leave our three children with them and share a date night.

We don't have chain restaurants in town other than of the fast-food variety, so we usually take a trip out of town for an Applebee's or Souplantation style dinner. The time we share often includes many a conversation about the kids, but they are our lives, so it does make us smile and laugh! These nights often take a 15-45 mile drive, so we definitely need a few hours to spare. Luckily when we head out we have plans for movies, bowling, or window shopping to make the drive worthwhile. Don't get me wrong, spending time with my hubby is no chore, but often during the week, we have school nights and bedtime to include, so weekends are our best bet for a great night out.

When we have a weekend to spend together, with or without the kids, we usually love heading to a hotel and playing "tourist" within a few hours from home. This mini-style vacation gives us time to explore our still local culture, but also get a feeling of getting away from it all. Not having to clean up after ourselves and cook our own dinner is definitely a treat.

I admit, Hubby and I get out just the right amount together all year round, it's something we look forward to and enjoy. I suggest you get over to Restaurant.com and check out their fabulous deals, $25 restaurant cards for only $10 and a huge selections of sites to choose from!!

Tell me, do you get out to dinner enough with your spouse!? Why or why not?!

This is a compensated post sponsored by Restaurant.com and JuiceBox Jungle, though my thoughts and opinions are all my own.

With six kids it is most often about money, having time alone when one of the other kids can watch the younger ones so we can go out. BUT, also, I have been pretty incapacitated with illness and can't make it our of the house much. I Do enjoy a "carry out" and would really love more couple meals with my husband. Some people feed their kids early, and then eat a nice dinner together. I really enjoyed and appreciated the times we "carried in" and spent a nice time together either in our family room, kitchen, and in some cases when am not up out of my bed...in the bedroom with a great movie. It can be done and I know these restaurants have GREAT deals sometimes...it is just the prioritizing your lives to have some "sacred" time together!

We dont go out to eat as much as we'd like. I think work has a lot to do with the fact that there's no time for it, ha ha.

No, we rarely go out. In the passed four years my husband and I have had a date night twice. I feel guilty leaving the kids but also money is a big issue. Just to go to the movie out here it's 20 dollars just for two people, and that's not counting if we want a drink. I'd rather rent a movie and stay in :D

WE don't go out to dinner enough, but that's okay. The time will come when our kids are older.
