Guinness World Records, 2010 Review

Sunday, November 01, 2009 Posted by The Mom Jen

From as long as I can remember, we've all been interested in random information and trivia. What better a book to own than the Guinness World Records, 2010, The Book of the Decade edition!?

From the Tallest Man (towering at 8ft 1 in) to the Longest Fingernails (28 ft 4 in), the celebrated annual commemorates the end of the decade with amazing feats, inspirational attainments and fascinating factoids for readers of all ages. The 2010 edition has tons of new features including the Top 100 Records of the Decade; links to free online content - including behind-the-scenes videos, photographs, interviews and more.

Each member of our family had their favorite section of the book. My 8 year old son loved all the sports feats especially the baseball category that has one of our favorite teams listed for "Most consecutive scoreless innings by a relief pitcher!" (Brad Ziegler-Oakland A's 2008) My husband enjoyed all the Engineering and Technology records including the the world's tallest super structure, the Burj in Dubai, wow! I'm a Scrabble game fan, and the highest score recorded was 1,049....my hightest has only been in the mid-300's! And, my 10-year old loved reading the food records, like the largest pizza ever cooked weighed in at over 26 thousand pounds! YUM!

This large book can be put on your coffee table year-round and never get old. 275 pages worth of hundreds of records that will both amaze you and even frighten you a bit! Maybe you or someone you know will be inspired and try to break a record of your own, who knows!

On sale at Amazon for $16.92, this makes a great gift for a boss, a co-worker, or a stocking stuffer for a curious child!

The Guinness World Records book was given to me in exchange for an honest review. My opinion is my tried-and-true experience with the product and I was not influenced by any source. I was not compensated monetarily for this post.
