Do you decorate for the holidays? And, by holidays I do include Halloween in the mix! Oh there are so many people in our neighborhood who go all out to decorate their yards for trick-or-treaters! Maybe you're hosting a Halloween party in your home this year? Well, I have a great addition to your decor that the whole family can get involved in making!
Shrinky Dinks from Creativity for Kids has come out with a new Halloween Fun kit! This quick and easy craft makes a spook-tacular Halloween decoration. Included in the kit are the following...
* Fuzzy Cardboard Tree – 8.5 x 11 in (21.6 x 28 cm)
* 5 Pre-printed® Shrinky Dinks Sheets – 5.5 x 8.5 in (14 x 21.6 cm)
* Hanging Loops
* 8 Colored Pencils
* Hole Punch
* Pencil Sharpener
* Jump Rings
* Instructions and Ideas
Our Take: All 3 of my kids were involved in putting this project together. My 3 year old loved coloring all the items. The older two were in charge of putting the tree together and using the rings and loops to attach the finished products to the tree. I was of course in charge of taking the Shrinky Dinks in and out of the oven. The kit comes with a hole punch that is a brilliant idea, the last time I used Shrinky Dinks, we didn't have one and I tried to make holes with a knife and it didn't work! I'd suggest separating the rings and looping them to the tree ahead of time. My kids were a tad impatient doing it all at the end. Then you can just hook the Shrinky Dinks on the tree as they're done and cooled. This kit is a classic that you'll love!
