Who you gonna call?! Atari is set to bring Ghostbusters:The Video Game, based on the smash hit motion picture franchise and featuring a completely new story to six game systems in 2009! Coinciding with the 25th anniversary celebration of the film's original theatrical release, the game will reunite original cast members including Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson. The game also stars newcomer to the franchise, actress Alyssa Milano as Dr. Peter Venkman’s love interest.
The game is set two years after Ghostbusters II, with Manhattan once again overrun by ghosts and supernatural forces. The player joins up as a new recruit with the original team, testing a variety of unique equipment and gadgets, to track, wrangle and trap this wide range of awe-inspiring phantasms in an all new funny and frightening battle to save New York City from its latest paranormal plague.
- Authentic Ghostbusters experience: Delivering the definitive gaming experience to worldwide Ghostbusters fans, Ghostbusters: The Video Game features the original cast from Columbia Pictures' classic Ghostbusters films, including Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson -- together again for the first time in more than 20 years!
- Supernatural spectacular: Like the films before it, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis return to create a new storyline that leads gamers through the trials of the world's leading paranormal ghost busting team. A variety of frightening new ghosts, even some based on ideas from Aykroyd and Ramis that never made it into the original feature films, appear in the game.
- Cool tech and fearsome enemies: Ghostbusters: The Video Game features intense ghost hunting, wrangling and trapping mechanics. Wear ghosts down into a weakened state with the Proton Pack's Blast Stream, then use the Capture Stream to wrangle them into the trap. Scan and analyze targets using the P.K.E. Meter, as well as explore tech new to the Ghostbusters universe.
- Multiplayer Ghostbusting: Play with your buddies in various multiplayer modes including Containment, Slime Dunk, and more!
The PC version is rated T for Teen, and is retailing for $29.99 and can be found at Walmart, Game Stop, Amazon.com, Best Buy, and Game Crazy.
